The “Inland” Commercial Diver/Tender course includes the introduction to commercial diving apparatus, air manifold operations, diver dress in, dress out procedures, dive station selection, various tending techniques, O.S.H.A. commercial diving regulations, safety procedures, and radio protocol.  Some fundamental commercial diving procedures are also studied, such as: diver-to-tender orientation, search patterns, record keeping procedures, basic hand tool techniques, out of air emergency procedures, dive station duties, selecting proper diving equipment, helmets/bandmasks and their uses, establishing underwater work centers, orientation to surface supplied deep diving, multiple in-water operations, underwater inspection and recording techniques, Diving Operations Supervisor training, field neurological examinations, basic oxygen administration, hyperbaric chamber operation, and equipment care and maintenance.  Also there will be an introduction to underwater welding and burning, and an overview of non-destructive testing methods. 

 Certifications received upon Completion of  the course:

• ADCI Entry Level Diver/Tender Certification (Association of Diving Contractors International)

• DCBC Diver Certification Board of Canada

• KMDS Dive Lab Superlite Helmet Maintenance (Kirby Morgan Dive Systems)

• TDI Nitrox I

• TDI Advancd Nitrox

• TDI Nitrox Gas Blender

• Dan O2 Provider

• Emergency First Response

• CPR

• First Aid

 Prerequisites:

• Must be a certified Open Water SCUBA Diver or equivalent. (please send proof of this certification along with application)

• Completion of medical examination form.

• Be at least 18 years of age (By the first day of class).

• A High School Diploma or GED

 Course Length:

• 8 Weeks, Monday through Saturday – 10 hours per day – 60 hours per week

 Cost:

•  Tuition: $9,800.00 and required equipment.

 Location:

• The Minnesota School of Diving Building, 712 Washington Street, Brainerd, MN 56401. 

• Local lakes, open pit mines, rivers, and our indoor training tank.
